About R&D Aquaponics the hydroponic company

 The Parent Company R&D Aquaponics was established in July 1969 as a hydroponic research and development company. In 1972 it started offering hydroponic nutrients and technical hydroponic advice to the hobbyist and started working with the few hydroponic commercial growers that were just starting to become established in Australia.

R&D Aquaponics started research and development on Hydroponics in 1972 with the development of specialised nutrients specifically formulated for hydroponics or the complete balanced growth of a range of plants such as lettuce, tomatoes, medicinal and chinese herbs, flowers, indoor plants and strawberries and greenfeed fodder for animals (as sprouted grain).

The development of Hydroponic Green Feed  Fodder for animals including cattle, poultry, horses, sheep, etc was started in the late 1970's.

 The company has specialised in hydroponics and is a leading company in the field of hydroponics. R&D AQUAPONICS supplies technology, innovations, plant nutrients, and products to the home grower and to commercial hydroponic growers.

Principal :

The manager of the company is Mr J. Romer. He obtained his matriculation from an Agricultural College with majors in Agriculture, Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. He then went on to to obtain his Science Degree at the University of NSW. He also completed a Horticulture Certificate from Ryde TAFE Horticultural College. He also obtained an Arts Degree majoring in Mathematics and Economics. He has written and had published five books on hydroponics.

Background:

Joe was employed by both Geigy Australia and Bayer Aust in various positions including Chief Chemist, Products Development Manager, and Technical Manager in their Agricultural Products Divisions. These companies specialised in insecticides, fungicides, plant nutrients, and a wide range of additional agricultural products. He is backed up by his daughter Samantha (Diploma in Horticulture) and his son Michael (Bachelor of Science) who established Quik Grow Hydroponics. He also employs very competent clerical and manufacturing staff to assist in the operation of the company.
